Allyn is the former Adjunct Aassociate professor of harp at Connecticut College and former Principal Harpist with Eastern Ct. Symphony Orchestra. She teaches students privately, ages five and up on harp and piano. Many of her students have won prestigious competitions and auditions. She is the Music Director of Voices on the Thames, a non-denominational community youth choir, which provides youth throughout New London County the opportunity to sing, to perform, achieve excellence, and to encourage a life long passion for music and singing.

Allyn is the Music Director of Second Congregational Church in New London, where she directs the senior choir, plays the organ and sings soprano.
